Some of its features are:

* very few external dependencies (ALSA,FFTW,Atlas)
|
|
* a real-time audio/MIDI system
|
|
* a dataflow system
|
|
* many audio processing algorithms implemented in plain C.

* file readers and writers for WAV,AIFF,MIDI,CSV,MusicXML,XML among others
